The Trans Laureate’s chief roles and responsibilities:*
Cultural Visibility: Celebrate and elevate the stories, identities, and creative expression of trans people across the U.S.A.
Community Engagement: Create at public programs, such as performances, workshops, exhibitions, or readings.
Representation: Serve as a civic and cultural ambassador at local, regional, national, and international events.
Healing & Empowerment: Use creative tools to combat transphobia and foster resilience.
Requirements
Applicants must:
Be at least 21 years old by the application deadline.
Reside in the United States of America.
Identify as transgender, nonbinary, or gender expansive.
Demonstrate experience in the arts, humanities, or community storytelling.
Exhibit enthusiasm and a readiness to serve as a cultural ambassador.
Be collaborative and community-oriented.
Be open to supporting outreach and community fundraising efforts.
