What is a Micronation?
Micronations are self-proclaimed entities that operate like sovereign nations but aren’t officially recognized. Like any country, Navassa establishes and maintains relationships (diplomacy) with local, national, and international entities. It is administrated by Secretariats that serve in similar capacities to government departments. It maintains a constitution, with the Queen acting in the capacity of a Head of State.
Despite this, the Kingdom of Navassa does not seek to undermine the legitimate government of the Republic of Haiti.

The Royal House of Navassa claims cognatic descent from Henry Christophe, later Henry Christophe, King of Haiti, through his legitimized daughter Princess Blésine Georges Christophe and her son, Pierre Nord Alexis, who also served as President of Haiti at the turn of the 20th century. Despite this lineage, the dynasty is not formally recognized by the government of Haiti or any other current or former royal dynasty. Nevertheless, the Royal Family & House continues to use its efforts to champion causes and celebrate its ties to Haiti’s past, present, and future.
