On the Election of Pope Leo XIV
On behalf of the Kingdom of Navassa, I extend heartfelt congratulations to His Holiness Pope Leo XIV upon his election as the 267th Bishop of Rome. His ascension marks a historic moment, being the first pontiff born in the United States and the first from the Order of Saint Augustine. His diverse heritage and pastoral dedication, notably his missionary work in Peru, reflect a commitment to unity and service that resonates deeply with our own values.   
As a nation inspired by the legacies of faith, resilience, and the enduring spirit of the Caribbean, we recognize in Pope Leo XIV a shepherd attuned to the complexities of our global community. His inaugural words, “Peace be with all of you,” echo our collective aspiration for harmony and understanding among all peoples.  
May his papacy be guided by wisdom and compassion, fostering dialogue across cultures and faiths, and may it herald a renewed commitment to justice, dignity, and the common good.
