On the Tragic Shooting at Bondi Beach

I am deeply saddened to have learned of the appalling attack at Bondi Beach in Sydney, where innocent lives were taken and many others grievously injured while gathered to celebrate the Festival of Lights. On behalf of the people of the Kingdom of Navassa and all those I serve, I extend my most sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of those who have been lost, and to all those who now bear the weight of injury, fear, and grief.

This unthinkable act of violence, which struck at a community peacefully observing the first night of Chanukkah, is a stark reminder of the fragility of peace and the urgent need to uphold compassion and unity in the face of hatred. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Jewish community in Sydney and around the world, and with all those who have been forever changed by this tragedy. And to the emergency responders and medical teams whose courage and swift action have made such a difference amid chaos, we offer our deepest gratitude.

May the memories of the fallen be a blessing, and may all those affected find strength, comfort, and solace in the solidarity of nations and the kindness of strangers.
